This is a bit bizarre to wake up to. Not much meat on the bones here yet, but to recap:
There was supposed to be a public hearing today of the House Intelligence Committee featuring Yates, Brennan, and Clapper. Then late last week, Chairman Devin Nunes cancelled that hearing, replacing with a closed door hearing with Comey and Rogers. Chatter over the weekend indicated that 3 of the big targets in the ongoing probe (Manafort, Page, and Stone) had volunteered to testify, though it was unclear if the testimony would be under oath.
Now, this morning, comes word that Nunes has cancelled all hearings of the Intelligence Committee this week:
Washington (CNN)The House Intelligence Committee has scrapped all meetings this week amid growing partisan rancor now threatening to derail its investigation into Russia and the Trump campaign.
The full committee meetings were canceled amid an increasingly tense back-and-forth that intensified over Chairman Devin Nunes' decision to cancel a public hearing set for Tuesday, two sources on the committee told CNN.
Ranking Democrat Adam Schiff is going to have a fit about this.
